Our STORY
Vietnam In 2000 Mary and Will journeyed through Asia and together produced the web site project Millennium Snapshot. With a laptop and digital camera, Will built and designed the site and documented the trip in video and stills images; Mary wrote the site content. This project was the spark that led to the creation of SirenDC.

From 2001-2, Will built a successful freelance digital design business. SirenDC is an expansion of Will's freelance practice and the culmination of his excitement for and experience in digital communications. In 2003, Mary joined Will and SirenDC was born.

Each principal has over a dozen years experience in digital media and marketing communications. Prior to SirenDC, Mary spent 7 years marketing in the renewable energy industry creating, managing and implementing communications projects and campaigns for a number of organizations and private companies. During the early nineties, she worked for an information technology company as Project Manager and then Marketing Manager. She has an MBA with a focus on Environmental Entrepreneurship and a BA in International Affairs, both from George Washington University.

As Creative Director from 1997-2000, Will built and grew Modus Interactive, a successful multimedia design firm that was subsequently sold to MHI Group. An early entrant into the new media field, Will was a founding member of the Adams Morgan-based studio cooperative Ant vs Ant, building multimedia solutions from 1993-1997.

Both founders are long time DC residents. They have a strong interest in environmental and social issues and volunteer their time and support a variety of organizations.
